Summary of Changes from Previous Version

Key revisions include clearer articulation of the policy's purpose, updated principles to align with NSW and ISO standards, enhancements to the records management program, and new sections addressing third-party service provider obligations and disposal practices.
The Policy was last reviewed in 2023 resulting in minor amendments. Since then, there have been ongoing developments in legislation and best practice. ICU has undertaken a thorough review, including:
• consultation with key stakeholders (IMTS including the CyberCX consultants engaged on behalf of IMTS, and Data and Analytics) as well as the broader community via the UOW bulletin board;
benchmarking against NSW legislation, ISO records management standards and best practice guidance by regulator; and
• benchmarking against State Records NSW â€~Records and information management policy checklist’.
