Summary of Changes from Previous Version

This is the first document to be published in the University's new Policy Library. It is basically equivalent to the document that was approved and effect at the time the migration occurred, except for the numbering system and references, which have been updated to align with the new formatting and current requirements.

2 - 9 February 2018 - Vice-Chancellor - Minor amendment to allow changes to the credit limits for research degrees in order to bring it into line with the approved model for the Bachelor of Research / Master of Research model, and to provide for more flexibility in recognising credit towards the first year of the Master of Research.

3 - 17 July 2019 - Vice-Chancellor - Amendment to delegations. Credit Limit Schedule updated with restrictions on credit for postgraduate and informal and non-formal learning. Addition of a general savings clause and amended reference from ESOS Act to refer to National Code for Overseas Students 2018.

4 - 14 November 2019 - Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) - Change in terminology from ‘research project component’ to ‘Honours Project’ in the Schedule 1: Limitations on the Amount of Credit, Item 1.5.

5 - 24 April 2020 - Vice-Chancellor - Minor amendment to accommodate the double counting ruled with an exception for Nested and packaged Masters qualifications.

6 - 1 January 2020 - ON APPROVAL - Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) - Administrative amendments to reflect the rescission of General Course Rules and Admissions Rules replaced by Coursework Rules.

7 - 4 November 2020 - Vice-Chancellor - Minor amendment to Schedule 1 to allow for the new UOW qualification, the Undergraduate Certificate. Consequential administrative amendments to reflect the rescission of the Coursework Student Academic Complaints Policy replaced by the Review and Appeal of Academic Decisions Policy and the Procedures for the Review of Marks or Grades and Other Academic Decisions (Coursework).

8 - 18 December 2020 - Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) - Administrative amendments to reflect divisional and faculty realignments.

9 - 16 September 2021 - Vice-Chancellor - Inclusion of UOW Lifelong Learning and microcredentials, removal of internal and external credit terminology, revision of appeals pathways and amendment of Associate Diploma to Associate Degree to align with AQF taxonomy.
