Summary of Changes from Previous Version
administrative and compliance enrolment management issues;
a change to the General Savings Provisions that shift the authority to vary the application of the Coursework Rules in individual cases considered exceptional from Council to the Vice-Chancellor;
changes to existing delegations and creation of new delegations to provide clarity on decision making, including new delegations for actions relating to admission and course offers, cancellation of enrolment, and reduced study loads, as well as amended delegations for late enrolment matters and amendments to academic records;
Clarifying the circumstances under which internal course transfers can be completed;
Clarifying the process for managing cross institutional study requests from UOW students
(currently the Rules only manage requests from students studying elsewhere);
Clarifying the operation of the cap on study in any single session in relation to Summer
Session;
New provisions to manage the circumstances whereby a student is required to change
courses as a result of failing to meet a minimum course performance requirement;
Clarifying provisions on late enrolment;
Strengthen and clarify the operation of the provisions for late withdrawal without
academic penalty;
Clarifying the operation of retrospective leave of absence;
Expanding and clarifying the provisions in the Rules to manage the lapsing process;
Providing greater clarity around students who do not resume their studies after a period
of suspension;
Closing a compliance gap to ensure that students on Commonwealth support
understand the implications of enrolling in an equivalent subject;
Correcting provisions where the delegated authority is missing or ambiguous.
