Summary of Changes from Previous Version
• Renaming to “Course and Subject Approval Procedures: Faculty Delegated Course and Subject
Amendments”;
• Inclusion of references to COSMOS and its use for preparation and implementation of proposals;
• updating clauses to reflect how amendments to admissions requirements are made (in exceptional circumstances) to better support the relevant clauses in the Coursework Rules and the Delegations
Authority Policy and acknowledgement of the regular and abnormal admissions review cycles in place at UOW;
• Revising staff roles, particularly Future Education Division's (FED) responsibilities in proposal review, consultation, and implementation management;
• Detailing CRICOS-related amendments within the procedure's scope and AQS's responsibility for their maintenance and implementation; Clarifying what amendments to assessments are within the scope of the Procedures and introducing a new process for amendments to assessment weighting of existing assessment types and allowing these to be approved by the Head of School or their delegate;
• Inserting a new clause allowing the Faculty Education Committee (FEC) to determine that changes to a subject are so substantial that a proposal for discontinuation of subject and new subject proposal is required;
• Incorporating significant amendments to WIL to enhance tracking of WIL in subjects by reference to the WIL Classifications;
• Reinstating a previously suspended Course, Specialisation, Major Study or Minor Study;
• Including a process to introduce amendments to course prerequisites and assumed knowledge without disadvantaging prospective students who have entered Year 11 with no notice of the amendments;
• Treating UOW Global Enterprise’s offshore campuses and the proposed UOW India campus consistently, including new definition of International Branch Campus proposed to be included in the Course Policy;
• Removing the discontinuation of a delivery location(s), or instance (Course Specialisation, Major Study, or Minor Study) and consequently adding this to the Course and Subject Approval Procedures (New Offerings and Discontinuations);
